Stucco on Jupiter Island is rarely just stucco. Most estate walls are a cement or acrylic finish coat over concrete block, and on a barrier island that film sits in a permanent bath of salt aerosol and marine humidity. The same porosity that lets the wall breathe also lets it hold moisture, and moisture on a warm, shaded elevation is exactly what Gloeocapsa magma, red algae, and mildew colonize.
