Insurance

Every partner carries real insurance.

Before any partner is referred, their coverage is verified. Here is what that means for a high-value home, stated plainly.

The coverage

A $2M liability minimum.

Every partner Clean Freaks Co works with maintains a minimum of two million dollars in general liability coverage, plus commercial auto coverage on every vehicle that comes to a property. This is verified against the certificate of insurance before the partner is referred, and again at annual renewal.

The distinction that matters: standard residential cleaning insurance is often thin — adequate for a rental, inadequate for a home where a single rug or a wall of impact glass is worth more than a vehicle. The coverage minimum exists because the homes do.

If a surface is damaged

The partner’s insurance is the mechanism.

The work is performed under the partner’s own contract and insurance. If a surface is damaged, the claim is between you and the partner — their general liability policy is the mechanism that covers the loss. Contact the partner directly and promptly, and document the damage as fully as you can.

One practical step before any service visit, regardless of provider: keep your own record — photographs, and appraisals where available — of high-value surfaces and portable items. That documentation supports a claim no matter who performed the work.

What this is not

An honest boundary.

Clean Freaks Co is a referral service. We do not perform cleaning, we are not a party to the service contract between you and the partner, and we are not an insurer. What we offer is a verified referral: we verify a partner’s insurance and conduct before we refer them, and a partner who mishandles a legitimate claim stops receiving our referrals. That is a specific thing, and we would rather state its edges plainly than imply more.

Questions

Frequently asked.

If a partner damages something in my home, who do I contact?

Contact the partner directly. They performed the work under their own contract and insurance, and their general liability policy is the mechanism that covers the loss. Document the damage as fully as you can — photographs, and appraisals where available. If a partner handles a legitimate claim poorly, that is something Clean Freaks Co wants to know, because it affects whether we keep referring them.

Does the two-million-dollar liability minimum actually cover high-value surfaces — a marble floor, a silk rug?

The minimum is set at two million dollars because standard residential cleaning insurance — which often sits at one million dollars or less — is inadequate for homes where a single surface material can exceed a vehicle in value. Whether any particular claim is covered, and at what amount, depends on the specific policy terms, the documented value of the item, and the nature of the damage. We recommend that homeowners keep their own documentation of high-value surfaces — photographs and appraisals where available — before any service visit, as this supports a claim regardless of who the provider is.

Is Clean Freaks Co liable if a partner damages my property?

No. Clean Freaks Co is a referral service — we are not a party to the service contract between you and the partner, and we are not the insurer. Our role is the referral: we selected this partner and verified their insurance and conduct before referring them. A claim is resolved between you and the partner, through the partner’s insurance. We state this plainly because a clear scope is more useful than an implied guarantee.

Does insurance cover items like jewelry or artwork in an open room?

General liability insurance covers property damage in the course of the service work — it is not a blanket theft or mysterious-disappearance policy. For high-value portable items in rooms where a crew will be working, the standard precaution is to move those items before the visit or restrict crew access to the room. This is not a commentary on any partner’s character; it is the same precaution a household would take with any service visit.
