Golden Beach sits on a narrow strip between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal, and the air that moves through an open great room carries a fine salt aerosol off the water. Salt is hygroscopic — it pulls moisture out of the humid coastal air and holds it against the fibre — so upholstery here never quite dries between cleanings. 2. Dry salt and palm pollen are vacuumed and groomed out of the pile and seams before any water touches the fabric, so the salt is removed rather than dissolved and driven deeper into the cushion core.
3. Salt and organic film are broken with a pH-matched solution, then thoroughly rinsed and extracted — the rinse is the point on the coast, because leftover hygroscopic residue is exactly what keeps pulling humidity back in.
4. Pieces are dried under air movement and controlled to the room’s humidity, and a fabric-appropriate protector is reapplied to sun-facing and salt-facing surfaces to slow the next round of fade and staining.
